The small Casablanca Sushi-Guide
The word "Sushi" refers to vinegared rice, but generally, the term is used to describe a finger-sized piece of raw or cooked fish on a small amount of seasoned rice. This style of Sushi is called Nigiri. Sushi also refers to cut rolls and handrolls. All of these types of Sushi can be eaten as is, or you can dip the fish-side down into Shoyu (Japanese soy sauce) first.
Maki rolls are formed with the help of a bamboo mat and are generally wrapped in Nori.
Nori are dried and pressed layer sheets of seaweed or algae
Sashimi is raw fish served sliced. Whatever is served as Sashimi or in sashimi-style is usually served with Wasabi on the side.
Wasabi is a typical Japanese root similar in taste to horseradish. Use sparingly if you're not used to the "strong bite" this ground-up root has to offer! It's ok to mix a little in with your Shoyu.
Shoyu is the Japanese version of soysauce and made from soybeans, roasted grain, water and salt. Shoyu is widely used in East and Southeast Asian cuisines and with each Sushi and Sashimi dish.
The creations of the Casablanca Suhi Bar are prepared after your order and you can watch the staff preparing it fresh. All dishes can be ordered in the Restaurant or for take out.
